Hooray! Welcome to my first blog post!
I am very excited to finally have my website up and running! If you have already poked around, you will see a lot of lovely photos in between the different sections of my site. This beautiful photography is courtesy of Elle Golden Photography's eye for detail during a styled shoot I put together a couple of months back.
When I was in the process of planning for this shoot, I was taking into consideration a lot of different venues across Atlanta but The Goat Farm stole my heart. My favorite things about this venue are the brick walls you can find across their property as well as the old machinery they have hanging around.
From a design perspective, I really wanted to play off of the juxtaposition between their rustic venue and the romantic scenery/floral arrangements I had in mind for the shoot. I played with several variations of pinks and whites in the form of spray roses and hydrangea and incorporated a lot of ivy into my arrangements.
One of the ideas that I really wanted to try my hand at was creating a scene designed to look as a dressing room but in an outside space. I incorporated an ornate mirror with a wired together ivy and rose arrangement into the design alongside a bouquet, veil, and white "wedding" dress into this scene.
For the bouquet I put together, I had the pleasure of visiting a local shop near me called Le Jardin Francais in West Midtown. I am so in love with how beautiful their storefront is! I purchased some stems from their shop - specifically poppy pods, dried lavender, and Queen Anne's Lace to name a few. For this bouquet, I wanted to go a bit deeper and more Fall-like with the feel of the flowers. By adding in the dried flower options, it added a lot of fun texture and depth to the bouquet!
For the bottle of wine I chose, I was targeting a specific color but also something that I could drink later (ha!). I popped over into Perrine's Wine Shop and their awesome staff helped me pick out not only the perfect color for the shoot but a darn good wine!
Happy viewing and thanks for checking out my first entry! For more photos of the shoot from the lovely Elle Golden, please see below!
